E-books: Downloading e-books

The programmes Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Digital Editions and Bluefire Reader are the most commonly used programmes for downloading e-books.

Note: our e-books come from various providers. The download button may look different according to which platform you are looking at. You can see some examples in the left column.

Some providers will not let you download a full text book as one file, but you can download the individual chapters.

Some providers only let you download an e-book for a certain period, then it will expire. This means that you cannot read it any longer, even if it is still downloaded on your computer. If you still need the book, just download it again and delete the old download.
