Why conduct a review?

The purpose of conducting a review is to gather relevant research within a specific topic and synthesize it into a coherent summary of existing knowledge in the field. Sometimes the process is about gaining an overview of the literature for your assignment, while at other times the review itself is the main task. It is important to clarify with your supervisor what type of review you should undertake.

There are various types of reviews, and the process of conducting, for example, a systematic literature review is expected to take up to 6 months.

You can read more about reviews on the guide: Literature Searching and Reviews
