EBSCO english (Cinahl, ASP, Business Source Complete...): Free Text Search

What is free text searching?

Free text searches typically search in titles, abstracts and keywords.

Tip

Combine searces, when searching on AND or OR

Proximity Operators are used if you want to specify how distant your keywords can be, for example in an abstract.

How to make a free text search

The advanced search techniques (commands) might be used in conjunction with the free text search.
This can be conducted in combination with a keyword search (the controlled keywords).

In all EBSCO databases, you will automatically start in Advanced search.
Here you can type one or more terms and you will get suggestions for even more terms
You can fill in a specific field (e.g. title or abstract) or all fields.
When one or more keywords are filled in, click Search.

The result is displayed in Recent activity.
