It is a good idea to add grants (the template is "Award") in Pure so that they can be linked to a project that is also registered in Pure. Previously, Awards/grants could only be displayed by registering them under the “Prize” template, but now a dedicated template for registering grants (Award).
If you have a grant registered as a Prize in Pure, you can create it as a Grant and then delete the Prize. Alternatively, you can contact Pure support for help with this.
A registered award/grant will not appear on the Research Portal unless it is related to a project. Once the relationship has been established, the award/grant will appear on the project page. It does not matter whether the award/grant or the project is registered first in Pure.
How to start registering your /grant in Pure:
Log in to Pure via https://www.sdu.dk/pure
Select +Add
Select the "Award" template
Select the type of Award (grant)
Select whether it is an Award/grant or Additional funding

Under ‘Award type’, the type selected on the front page of the template is displayed. It is possible to change the type here and specify whether it is an Award /Grant or Additional funding. Select "Award" if it is the project's original grant, and Additional funding if the project later receives additional funds from the same or another fund.
It is also possible to select a supplementary project type below in the menu called "Add nature of activity type"
The drop-down menu under ‘Project type’ contains a number of different types of grants and funds. For example, if you have received an award/grant from a fund and the project is also a PhD project, both tags must be added. This is done by selecting "Add supplementary project type"/"Add nature of activity type" again.
If you are missing a supplementary project type for a fund, you can contact Pure support to have it added to the drop-down menu. Please note, however, that not all funds will be added.

Enter a title for the grant – this is mandatory. The title can, for example, indicate the type of grant and the name of the fund that awarded it.
You can also add a short title and/or an acronym.
It is possible to add a description of the award/grant. However, if the description covers the entire project, it is recommended that you add it to the project registration in Pure instead.
Add ID. Read more about ID below.

The ID must also be specified in the 'Identification' section.
Add the ID via the drop-down menu under 'Grant number and IDs'.
Many foundations assign a grant number to a grant, and stating this is important for the precise identification of the project and the articles produced as part of it. Some projects are also assigned an SDU project ID. In such cases, both the SDU project ID and the grant number must be added.

Add the persons or organisations that have received the grant.
Here, the person with the role PI or Co-PI will be listed as the recipient.
Remember to select the administering organisation.
If there are collaborative partners click "Yes". Add collaborators or create external organisations if necessary.
Some projects are collaborative – both internally between units and departments at SDU, and externally with universities and organisations outside SDU. All internal and external partners must be added to the grant application.
Please also remember to specify which unit is acting as project manager.
To select the organisation that has awarded the grant, go to "Add funding" and then click on "External organisation". You can now search for the organisation. If the external organisation has not already been created, it can be created via ‘Create new’.
The grant amount is entered in DKK under ‘Awarded amount’. If the grant is given in another currency, this can also be specified.
If the project is collaborative, it is possible to add information about whether the grant is shared between institutions.
Please note that only one funding source should be created at a time. If several amounts are granted to the same project, each grant must be created separately.

The actual start and end dates, as well as any expected start and end dates, are specified under life cycle. Although the actual start and end dates are not mandatory, it is important to specify them, as they form the basis for the display of the grant amount on your personal overview. If the actual end date is not yet known, the field can be left blank.
The grant date is the date on which the PI received the grant. This date is mandatory.
It is also possible to indicate if the project is being extended or shortened.
Add relevant links and files to the grant. If the files relate to the entire project, they should instead be added to the project registration i Pure.
Link the Award/grant to a project registered in Pure. As mentioned earlier, the grant will not appear on the Research Portal unless it is linked to a project.
You can search for the project by clicking on the icon under Related project or Related grants and then searching for the name of the project or grant.
