Add an existing CV or create a new one
This Guide will take you through how to create a CV in Pure.
A CV in Pure is created by clicking “Add new” or clicking + next to Curriculum Vitae.

The template is called ‘Public CV’, but it is only made publicly available the moment you choose to publish it when the CV is completed. This means that you can easily add and save a CV without it being published. It's up to you.
Now you can start creating a CV
If you have editor rights in Pure, you will first see a search box where you can search for the name of the person you need to create a CV for.
You will then be presented with a window with content you can choose from. Simply start by clicking “Create”.
The first thing you should do is change the name of your CV. You do this at the top of the CV window. You can only give one name, which will appear on your profile. The name will be the same whether you are on the Danish or the English version of the researcher portal.

In the example above, the person has chosen to name their CV ‘Academic CV’
Pure is not intended for storage of personal information of a private nature.
Therefore we ask that you do not enter this kind of information.
Sensitive personal data must NOT be entered in Pure as the system is not approved for storing or processing this type of information.
If you already have a CV you want transferred to Pure You can do so now. Choose ‘Add section’ in the CV and then choose ‘Text section’.
Copy the text from your existing CV and go to the CV in Pure. Place your marker in the text section and click ‘Format’. A brush will appear instead of ‘Format’. Now you can copy your text to the CV.

You can now add an automatic publication list or publish your CV.
If you did not have a CV to copy you can follow the steps below.
A good way to get your CV started is to make the layout of your CV.
This can be done easily by starting with only ‘Your personal profile from Pure’ and then add a ‘Heading’ for each of the sections you would like to include.
There are different ways to structure a CV and there may be different requirements for content.
Below is an example of headings in a CV:

Once you have chosen the headings for the sections you want to include in your CV, add a text field under each one.

It is possible to create both an English and a Danish CV. If you don't want to create one in both languages, it's a good idea to create it in English.
Content available in the section overview will differ greatly depending on what fields you have filled out on your profile in Pure.
Personal master data from Pure is: Name, current employment, picture and contact information. It's usually a good idea to add this.

You can also add Research area/research interests automatically. This is the text you have added as “Research area” on your profile in Pure.
The employment list is automatically generated, but only contains your current employment at SDU. Instead, create a periodic bulleted list or a text field containing your appointments.
Each time you want to add something new, click ‘Add section’.
First, you should add a heading for the section you want to create if you have not already
Then you add the periodic list.
You will now be asked to fill in Danish and English text at the same time, and for the periodic bulleted list, both language fields must be filled in. If you only want to create an English CV, you must insert the English text in both the English and Danish language fields (only applies when using automatic bulleted lists).
You can edit each line at a time or add more.
The arrows move the lines up or down and you delete excess points on the "x"

When adding your appointment, you can add a text field if you want to add an introductory text to your research field before the list, as done below. To do this, hover your mouse between the heading and the period lineup to bring up the text “Add paragraph”. Then select ‘Text field’ and write an introductory text for your list
You can automatically add other content already entered in Pure to your CV. This includes, for example, publications, activities, awards and press coverage.
Keep in mind that the CV will appear on your SDU profile next to comprehensive lists of all your Pure content and consider whether it is necessary to include the lists in your CV. However, it can be a good idea to use the CV to draw attention to specific content.
For example, you can add a list of selected publications
In the CV template, select “Add section” and then “Publications”.
As shown in the image below, you can define some criteria for your list. If you want to select every single publication, you don't need to define many criteria. If you don't want to update the list yourself, you can set some limited requirements for the content to be added automatically in the future. For example, it could be your 20 most recent research articles or only research articles.

A dynamic list is automatically updating itself whenever you add new content into Pure that matches the list criteria. This is a good solution for a comprehensive CV.
Static lists let you edit the entire automated list and let you select only the publications you are most proud of. Every time you add new content into Pure, that matches your criteria, you will be asked if you want to add it to your CV. You will not receive an email when it happens
You change the list type in the bottom of the ‘Edit’ section once you have added an automated list. Once you make a static list, you will have to do the weeding manually. If you later choose to make the list dynamic again, your manual changes will be overwritten.
You can delete a publication from the list by clicking the ‘x’. You can also add a publication by hovering the mouse between publiations. A search bar will appear then.
When new items are added, fitting your selected criteria, a notification will appear in Pure when you go to the CV tab

Opening the CV will let you add or dismiss each item:

Du kan tilføje så mange automatiske lister, som du har brug for. Priser, udnævnelser og aktive professionelle medlemskaber kan eksempelvis også tilføjes ved hjælp af automatiske lister. Sørg for at have registreret det ønskede i korrekte kategorier i Pure først.
Herunder er ‘Awards and prizes’ lavet ud fra en statisk liste, mens listen ‘Recent work as Peer Reviewer’ er lavet med en dynamisk liste, der viser de nyeste indberetninger, hvor maksimum er sat til tre.

Remember to save.
Until you tick the “Publish” box, your CV is not public, even if you save it. You can therefore go on and off working on your CV for as long as you want. When you are completely finished with your CV, you can publish it.
