Using the project templates allows you to register your research projects in Pure. This makes them visible to the research community and the public via the Research Portal. You can also link your projects to other Pure registrations to showcase the project's results. This gives you a simple way to link your research to your research projects.
Log in to Pure. You can add a project by clicking on +Add content and then choose the template "project". Select the "Project type" that best describes the project and the type that you want to display on the Research Portal. Please note that the type ‘Research’ is too generic and that it would be more meaningful to choose one of the types listed below. E.g. Private Foundations

The first field to be filled in is under the heading "Classifications". You have already selected the project type when you chose the template, but it can be changed here under "Project type".
Under "supplementary project type", you can use the drop-down menu to specify, for example, which fund or other entity is associated with the project. If there are several, they must all be added here. For example, if there are several grants from different funds for the same project, they must all be added here, one by one. If you would like to add more, please write to puresupport@bib.sdu.dk with your suggestion.

Under ‘Identification’, enter the title, description, etc.
The title is mandatory, but many projects also go by an acronym, so it is useful to include this as well.
It is also a very good idea to add a description of the project. The title alone rarely says enough to give the public an idea of what the project is about. However, it is entirely up to you how and how much you write, but it is worth considering keeping it relatively short and precise as to be an appetizer for looking into the project.
This may be presented in a continuous prose text or a text in bullet point form. The most important thing is that external readers can find out more about the project than the title suggests.

‘Identification’ also includes ID.
Add the ID in the drop-down menu under ‘Grant number and IDs’.
Some funds assign a grant number to a grant, which is important to state here for precise identification.
The grant number is the ID that a given fund has assigned to the grant. Some projects will also be assigned an SDU project ID. This can be entered if there is no ID linked to a fund grant.
Multiple IDs can be assigned, and there may be multiple grant numbers from the same fund (e.g. if an additional grant has been awarded).

In the Participants field, you should add all persons associated with the project. By default, Pure always adds you as a participant. If you do not know all the collaborators, you must at least add all internal persons. If you do not know all the persons associated with the project, you can add collaborators at the institutional level in the Collaborators field.
You add a person by either clicking on Add person or on the button. If a participant cannot be found, you can create the person as an external person by clicking on Create external person. We encourage you to add an external organisation to your external partners, as the organisations will be displayed on the map of collaborations on the Research Portal.
You can select the role of each participant in the project by clicking on Edit next to their names and selecting Role. If you do not change the role, it will be set to 'Project participant' by default.
t is important to define how long each person will be associated with the project. By default, everyone is initially assigned to the time period for which the project is scheduled to run. You can change the time period for individual participants if necessary. This is done by pressing the same button as if you wanted to change a person's role and set a time period for the participant.

Select whether there are partners associated with the project or not. If you select yes, you will be able to search for the relevant partners by clicking “Add Collaborator”. If you cannot find the organisation, you can create it by clicking on the Create external organisation field.
Even if there are internal persons on the project in the participant field, SDU or one of SDU's affiliated organisations, e.g. hospitals, must also be registered in the field if they are partners. The internal organisation must be added for reporting purposes. You must mark one of the partners as the leader.
Enter the start and end dates of the project. If you do not know the end date, leave this field blank. If the project finishes earlier than expected, you can register this by clicking the 'Truncated' field and adding a new end date. You can also add text explaining why the project ended earlier than expected.

In the 'Files and Links' field, you can upload any relevant documents or links that you would like to make available on the Research Portal. You can upload several types of document, such as text, audio or video files.
Some funds have a page on their websites for individual projects. Insert links to these where possible. In some cases, SDU also has project pages on its website that can be linked to.
You can link related Pure records to your project. This allows people to see the publications, activities, awards, etc. that the project has generated. This makes it easy for interested parties to find the project's results.
Grants must be created in the Award template in order to be linked to a project. (The template is new. Previously, grants had to be created in the ‘prizes’ template). See the instructions for registering ‘Grants’ in Pure.

In the subject field, you can add relevant keywords to the project. The keywords will be visible on your project and searchable in the Research Portal. This makes your project easier to find for interested visitors to the Research Portal.
There are four different types of visibility to choose from:
To update a project in Pure, search for it in the 'Projects' tab and click on its title. The project will open in overview format, allowing you to easily view all the registered information. To edit the project registration, click on the pencil icon in the top-left corner. The display format will now change to the editing format.
